Lisa Halliday, DMD
Dr. Lisa Halliday initially grew up in New York and later moved to Los Gatos, California. A product of Los Gatos High School and then Cal, she graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Dental School in 1993. Upon her return from the east, she completed a one-year VA Residency in Palo Alto with special emphasis on more complex medical conditions affecting oral health. Her work interests brought her to that large dental office in Fremont where Tom was working, and upon accepting the terms of his proposal, she agreed to return with her new husband to Arizona where they spent two happy years working at the Indian Hospital.
Their public health work brought them to Everett, Washington, where they provided dental care to low income children for a few years at a National Health Service Corp facility. Though this experience was very enjoyable, the birth of their daughter meant it was time to “settle down” and return home. In 2001, they purchased the dental practice of a well-respected local dentist and have carried on the tradition of conscientious and ethical dentistry.
Thomas Halliday, DDS
Dr. Tom Halliday was born and raised in Los Altos and has been a general dentist since 1990 when he graduated from the University of the Pacific Dental School. Immediately following dental school, he became a commissioned officer in the US Public Health Service, where he spent a total of four years working on the Navajo and Hopi Indian Reservations in Northern New Mexico and Arizona, culminating as chief of the Tuba City, AZ, Indian Health Service Hospital Dental Clinic. During his early dental career, he also spent a year as a solo dentist in a rural non-profit dental clinic in Tuolumne City, California.
Taking a break from his public health work, Dr. Halliday worked for three years in a group practice in Fremont, where he met his dear wife, Lisa. Though having sworn throughout dental school to never “get hitched” (especially to a dentist), Tom conveniently forgot these declarations and during many a platonic ski weekend managed to convince Lisa of his charm.
